FABULOUS CHRISTMAS TREASURES go up for bid at 4 p.m. today until Dec. 9 as part of the YKACL Yuletide Online Pop-up Auction Fundraiser.
Bid on a collection of one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts and elegant decorations just in time for the holidays, including an authentic Persian Rug crafted in Tehran (approx. 6.9-ft x 4.4-ft) and dozens of Boreal ice candles created and delivered by members of the YKACL Business Services Team and the YES (Youth Employment Services) Group. The colourful candles feature organic textures from the Boreal forest.
Funds raised will support our many programs, including the YKACL Youth Groups, Peer Support Group, Employment Services and Supported Living Services.
“This impressive collection of donated Christmas décor has sure brought the Christmas spirit into the Association this week,” said Donna Meserah-Zdyb, YKACL Skills Training and Community Inclusion Manager. “The Team is excited to create our signature ice candles next week for some lucky bidders!”
Christmas ornaments and decorations were donated by Christmas collectors Arthur and Dale Boutilier. The donated Persian Rug was hand-woven in Tehran in the centuries-old Turkoman style, marked by predominantly red tones and geometric grids with octagonal and diamond shaped tribal insignia known as “guls.”
The rug was donated by YKACL supporters in Ottawa.
